Don't just estimate ET.
Measure it.

Quick and accurate water balance characterization is critical to precision irrigation and crop performance

Knowing exactly how much water a canopy is losing is vital. You need to know how much water to replenish with irrigation to manage plant water conditions. Direct measurement of evapotranspiration can give you the information you need to identify drought and biomass production.

The ATMOS 51 VBR Actual ET Sensor takes your data beyond reference evapotranspiration values, using a variance Bowen ratio (VBR) technique to simplify water and energy balance measurements in the field. Now, you can use actual ET data to accurately measure your plants’ water uptake throughout the day.

Best of both worlds

If you have already deployed an ATMOS 41 All-in-One Weather Station, you know how easy it is to get ET estimates in ZENTRA Cloud. This new addition to the ATMOS line of sensors augments those readings by providing valuable insights into plant, crop, vegetation, and soil water limitations that are not available when relying solely on reference ET.

Use this additional data to ensure your irrigation strategy serves your plants with very strict water needs.

Easy integration

The ATMOS 51 is compact and easy to install on a pole right where you need your measurements. Simply mount it and connect it to your data logger to start collecting evapotranspiration data. The sensor has plug-and-play compatibility with ZENTRA Cloud, so you can easily extend your current crop and canopy data collection program to include this critical measurement.

Monitor applied irrigation and set threshold alerts in ZENTRA Cloud for water lost to evapotranspiration to minimize the risk of under-watering stressed plants or over-watering and washing nutrients below the root zone.

Better growth predictions

Water and sunlight are necessary components for plant biomass production. Combine actual ET measurements from the ATMOS 51 with irradiance measurements to better understand canopy photosynthetic activity and carbon uptake and better predict crop performance.
